About RifugioWatch
RifugioWatch tracks when Italian mountain huts (rifugi) open bookings for the coming summer, how each one takes bookings, and what it asks for a deposit and cancellation. It currently covers 133 huts in Dolomites and South Tyrol, Aosta Valley (Valle d'Aosta), Piedmont (Piemonte) and Liguria, including the huts on Alta Via 1 and Alta Via 2.
Independent
RifugioWatch is an independent project. It is not run by, or affiliated with, any hut, the Club Alpino Italiano (CAI), a tourism board or a booking platform. We do not take bookings and we cannot hold a bed for you: always book directly with the hut.
Right now the site has no affiliate links and no paid placements. If that changes, those links or listings will be clearly labeled, and they will not change the dates or details we show for any hut.
How the data is checked
- Booking dates, booking methods and deposit rules come from the hut's own website or its official CAI listing wherever possible.
- Every hut page lists its sources and the date it was last checked.
- A date that comes only from a third-party report is marked as reported, not confirmed.
- If we could not verify something, the field says so or is left blank. We do not guess dates.
- Facilities are marked confirmed (stated by the hut or CAI) or reported (from reviews, tourism pages or less clear wording).
Today 15 of 133 huts have a 2027 booking date, or bookings already open, confirmed by the hut. Huts change their plans, so always confirm on the hut's own site before you plan around a date.
